Licences Explained

Please read carefully as once purchased and downloaded we cannot give a refund (due to the nature of the purchase); we occasionally make changes to the Licences so even if you have recently read this, please check again before a new purchase as the new terms will apply to new Licences; last updated 5th July 2009.

All pictures produced by centaur photographic are copyright protected (© Centaur Photographic; Moral Rights Asserted) and may not be published, copied or distributed without a license.

Copyright: is an automatic right of the owner of an image as defined by international copyright conventions - usually the person (or their employer if a full time employee) who takes the photograph; it applies even when a copyright notice is absent. Purchasing a print or license is "not" a transfer of copyright ownership. Receiving images via a third party does not excuse a user from copyright infringement; it is the responsibility of the user / publisher to ensure the image has an appropriate license.
Moral Rights: images may not be distributed or used in any way that could be derogatory to people or organizations or their property if depicted, or bring them or centaur photographic into disrepute, if in doubt you should obtain written approval prior to use.

Types of Licences:

Website Licence is for use in websites. Time limited to 24 months (no limit if editorial).

Club Licence for available for polo clubs only; please contact us if required

Editorial Licence is for a single use in newspapers & magazines (not adverts) and websites where the article is reproduced or abridged. Time limited to 6 months from date of purchase (no time limit on websites). Images licensed for Editorial Use are to be credited: "Guards Polo Club/Centaur Photographic" but please note that some images were taken by independent photographers on behalf of Centaur and will need their names added to the above, i.e. "Guards Polo Club/Centaur Photographic/[independent]" so please check the file information.

Promotional Licence is for single & multiple uses by sponsors, suppliers and organisers for: press releases, advertisements, promotions, presentations, brochures, books, packaging, calendars, greeting cards, posters, bill boards, trade show displays and point-of-sale materials. Time limited to 24 months from date of purchase.

Product Promotion / Endorsement Licences are subject to restrictions such as a “model release” and product approval; please contact us if required.

Commercial licence is for any image used in/on a product that is sold for commercial gain (except for publications such as magazines & newspapers); please contact us if required.

Sizes:
Website 1 (Large) - 24 Month License for use up to 1280 x 857 pixels (1.10 mega pixels) on websites
Website 2 (Medium) - 24 Month License for use up to 800 x 535 pixels (0.43 mega pixels) on websites
Website 3 (Small) - 24 Month License for use up to 320px X 214px (0.07 mega pixels) on websites
A3+ - use over A3 (includes smaller use)
A3 - use up to A3 / Double Page Spread / 423mm x 300mm (12+ mega pixels)
B4 – use as a “Front Cover” up to B4 / Full Page Plus / 360mm x 250mm (13 mega pixels)
A4 - use up to A4 / Full Page / 300mm x 212mm (9 mega pixels)
A5 - use up to A5 / Half Page / 209mm x 148mm (4.5 mega pixels)
A6 - use up to A6 / Quarter Page / 151mm x 108mm (2.4 mega pixels)
A7 - Promotional use up to A7 / Eighth Page / 108mm x 77mm (1.2 mega pixels)

With all licensed images (except as specifically noted) you may:
1. Alter, modify, combine and manipulate the images.
2. Provide the images in digital form to another company solely for the purpose of printing the images.

Note: If you click on a thumbnail, you will see a preview image with the file information; if you click on the preview, you will see an extra large preview. Images are downloadable immediately after payment and are available for the period of the Licence (should you lose the file). Download size is restricted to the licence size so please ensure you have selected a size suitable for your needs.
